Thank you for your interest in our lake cruise and mothership kayak excursion business. We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you aboard the “Oquossoc Lady” or the “Gray Ghost”. Below is some personal information that we hope will introduce us to our guests.
Doreen and I are both native Annapolitans, growing up sailing, fishing, and crabbing on the Chesapeake Bay in Annapolis, MD. Married for 38 years, Doreen graduated from the University of Maryland (School of Nursing) and I graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy. Doreen, while juggling the schedules of our three active daughters, completed a successful career as a Registered Nurse. I was a career Naval Aviator, piloting the Navy P-3 Orion patrol aircraft.
While serving at Naval Air Station Brunswick, ME, we fell in love with the beautiful Rangeley Lakes Region and in 1983 purchased an old camp on the west shore of Rangeley Lake in Oquossoc. In 2006, at the age of 50, we fulfilled our dream and retired to the lake. I am a Registered Maine Guide (hunting, fishing, recreational), Vice President of the Rangeley Region Guides and Sportsman’s Association, and a Director with the Rangeley Lakes Region Historical Society. We are active parishioners of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Parish, where Doreen volunteers as a Eucharistic Minister.
We love the Rangeley Region and look forward to welcoming you aboard one of our vessels where we can show you the beauty of the lakes, mountains, and wildlife.
If you might also be looking for a place to stay when you are visiting the area, we also offer three private lakefront rental suites: Osprey’s Nest, Eagle’s Nest and Loon’s Nest. For more information click here: www.loonsnestrangeley.com.
